Color: Tiled red, reflecting the evolution and oxidation of the wine.

Nose: Notes of cocoa, burnt caramel, and prunes in alcohol.

MouthGenerous and powerful attack, supported by great aromatic richness.


Pairings: Ideal as an appetizer with semi-cooked foie gras, or as a digestive with dark chocolate truffles.

Best serve at: 10°C

Degraded blue and gray shales exposed North-West.

Vines planted on the terrace, pruned in goblet, worked entirely by hand.

Average age of the vines: 50 years.

Vinification & aging process

Selection of the most exposed plots.

Manual harvest in 10kg boxes - Highly ripe grapes with a high natural sugar level.

Destemming, placing in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and the start of fermentation.

Mutage under marc with wine alcohol according to the traditional method of Arnaud de Villeneuve.

Three to five years of aging in old oak barrels exposed to the sun and the north wind to promote oxidation and the concentration of aromas.
